SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR - News), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that TDC, the leading telecoms provider in Denmark, is building a new network with the T1600 Core Router. The network will carry all of TDC’s residential broadband and business multimedia traffic, as well as all of the data and voice traffic generated by TDC’s cable and mobile operator subsidiaries. TDC will migrate to a Juniper-based IP/MPLS core to improve network performance, scalability and efficiency, enabling the company to better respond to an unprecedented growth in traffic and the performance demands created by bandwidth-rich multimedia applications, including video and mobile applications.

“Efficiency, performance and scale have become the cornerstones of our business, as customer demand for high-quality multimedia services and applications has accelerated, and we found our existing infrastructure to lack the flexibility and capacity we required,” said Jess Ibsen, executive vice president and CTO of TDC’s Fixed Nordic operations. “The alternative provided by Juniper’s T1600 improves efficiency, scale and performance, as well as increased 40 Gigabit capabilities. When combined with JUNOS Software, which reduces complexity, the Juniper solution delivers operational excellence and significantly lowers total cost of ownership.”
