MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Granite Systems, the leading communications software provider of Service Resource Management (SRM) solutions, today announced record sales and momentum for 2002. Despite telecommunications market turbulence, demand for Granite's new Xng(R) System, including automated service provisioning and the operational efficiencies it yields, drove the company's sales volume to its highest level in history - a 30 percent increase over 2001 and five percent increase over 2000. During 2002, Granite signed nine new customers, greatly expanded its presence within existing tier-one carriers such as AT&T Wireless and Telecom Italia, and surpassed the 10,000-user mark with its implementation at ICG.2002 also brought continued global expansion for Granite Systems, particularly within the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market, where over half of the company's sales were made. To support this growing and diverse client base, Granite made product and partner enhancements to offer global language customization and localized 24/7 support to customers worldwide. In addition to its global expansion, Granite extended its core competencies to the enterprise space, helping new customers like Schlumberger and La Poste obtain and maintain a more accurate view of their network and enhance operating efficiencies."Our recent success, particularly at a time when software and telecom spending is down, points to a dramatic need for our solutions," stated John E. P. Borden, Jr., president and CEO of Granite Systems. "Even during this lull in the economy, technology has continued to evolve. Carriers may not be buying much of that technology now, but they are investing in solutions such as the Xng System that will enable them to quickly and efficiently integrate new technologies and deliver new services when the inevitable upturn occurs. The Xng System gives carriers the ability to reduce operational expenditures today and manage future capital investments, for rapid service delivery and greater ROI." Granite Systems Inc.
