CAMPBELL, Calif. -- Array Networks, the Application Networking Company, announced the new version of its Array SP (Version 6) integrated security platform. The industry's most feature-rich network security platform incorporates Array's unique Application Networking Architecture and transforms conventional network device functions into secure, high-performance, application environments. At the forefront of the industry movement to integrated network security platforms, the Array SP includes a suite of network security and Web optimization applications, including SSL VPN, identity management, application-layer firewall, Port 80 security, compression, and Web traffic management as well as support for legacy applications. The Array SP dramatically improves and simplifies enterprise network security that conventionally has required location-specific point solutions such as firewalls, load balancers, caches, authentication systems, and SSL devices. The new Array SP offers an unprecedented combination of borderless security for legacy and Web-based applications based on trusted authentication, authorization and auditing (AAA), advanced content networking capabilities and best-in-class SSL acceleration. Enhancements to the new Array SP include:

  • Legacy Application Support: Support for running legacy enterprise applications over SSL VPNs, including Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, Lotus Notes, Siebel, SAP, and PeopleSoft.

  • Port 80 Security: Secure forward caching technology that protects and accelerates delivery of both outbound and inbound content, including Port 80 (HTTP) and SSL traffic.

  • Web Security: Cryptographically hashed One-Time URLs that mask the identity of the originating server and can only be used once per user

  • SSL Shim: A unique SSL-Shim that works in conjunction with Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) to enable caching, content filtering and virus scanning for SSL-encrypted traffic.

  • Traffic Management: Advanced traffic management features including secure load balancing and link load balancing.

  • Compression: Integrated compression that provides optimized, secure Web access and easy integration with the busiest enterprise networks.

  • Performance: Accelerated encryption that handles bulk SSL content at line speeds comparable to clear-text content.

"Cisco just announced the move towards multi-function devices integrating traditional traffic management functions into one platform and validated the industry space," said Donald J. Massaro, President and CEO of Array Networks. "We started the multi-function approach three years ago and are beyond the integration of just conventional traffic management functions. Version 6 of our high-performance, integrated security platform will dramatically enhance and simplify the traditional border security associated with conventional LANs and WANs, enabling customers to achieve security without boundaries."
