Cantata Technology announced the appointment of Robert Gersten as vice president of sales

NEEDHAM, Mass. -- Cantata Technology™, the world’s leading independent provider of enabling communications technology, announced today the appointment of Robert Gersten as vice president of sales for the North American and Latin American regions. With more than 25 years of technology sales experience, Mr. Gersten will lead Cantata’s carrier sales in the NAR and CALA regions. Prior to joining Cantata, Mr. Gersten served as vice president of sales for Nuera Communications, a provider of wireless, VoIP and softswitch solutions.

While at Nuera, Mr. Gersten won significant deals with service providers including MCI/Verizon, Sprint, Cox Communications, Rogers Communications and Comcast. In addition, Mr. Gersten was instrumental in developing a plan to position the company to be sold, resulting in the acquisition of Nuera earlier this year by AudioCodes. Prior to Nuera, Mr. Gersten served as vice president, America Sales for 3COM/US Robotics where he was responsible for growing revenue streams in the wireline, wireless and services business units. In addition, Mr. Gersten has held several senior sales positions at Digital Equipment Corporation.
