Duo to jointly offer mediation, provisioning solutions; Accenture to acquire Comptel telecom consulting business in outsourcing deal

HELSINKI -- Comptel Corporation, the leading mediation and provisioning solutions provider and Accenture (NYSE:ACN), the world's leading management consulting and technology services company, today announced an alliance to jointly offer mediation and provisioning solutions to telecommunication companies globally. The two companies also signed an outsourcing agreement under which Accenture will provide the Comptel Group with product development and systems integration services. As part of outsourcing agreement, Accenture will acquire Probatus Telecom Solutions, the telecom consulting business of Probatus, a Comptel subsidiary. Approximately thirty Probatus employees based in Tampere and Forssa, Finland will transfer to Accenture on existing employment terms. Under the alliance, Comptel and Accenture will draw upon each other's expertise to jointly develop, market, sell and deliver mediation and provisioning software solutions to operators. "Outsourcing continues to be a key area of focus for Accenture not only as a way to help clients achieve costs savings, but also to give them access to new skills and capabilities," said Juho Malmberg, country managing director of Accenture Finland. "This alliance with Comptel and the related outsourcing agreement will help us offer new and unique solutions to our clients and create competitive advantage based on stronger technological capabilities in the mediation and provisioning area." For Comptel, the alliance will offer an extensive distribution channel for its products and services, and better positioning when offering solutions for operators' strategic technological challenges.
