SEATTLE -- WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:WGRD), a leading provider of Internet security solutions, today announced its financial results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2001. WatchGuard reported net revenue of $12.4 million for the fourth quarter of 2001, compared to $17.3 million in the third quarter, in line with the previously released revenue estimates of $11.0 million to $13.0 million disclosed on December 21, 2001. For the full year, net revenue was $64.3 million in 2001, up from $60.7 million in 2000. The decline in fourth quarter revenue was primarily due to challenging economic conditions, a slowdown in sales of higher-end products, and disruptions caused by the Company's realignment of its sales organization and channel. Product revenue was $7.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2001, compared to $12.8 million in the third quarter. Service subscription revenue was $4.9 million for the quarter, up from $4.5 million in the third quarter. In a separate release:

The transaction is expected to close early in the second quarter and is subject to certain conditions to closing, as discussed below.
