Ericsson retains Marconi's reseller agreement with Newport Networks for session border controllers

CALDICOT, U.K. -- Newport Networks, the developer ofcarrier-class Session Border Controllers, is pleased to confirm that,subsequent to the acquisition of key parts of the telecommunicationsequipment business of Marconi Corporation plc ("Marconi"), Ericsson Limited has novated the world-wide reseller agreement with Newport Networks previously signed with Marconi.
John Everard CEO of Newport Networks commented, "I am delighted thatEricsson has decided to re-sign the Marconi reseller agreement. It is astrong endorsement of the Newport 1460 session controller."
Ericsson plan to employ the Newport 1460 as part of their session bordercontrol solutions for applications such as carrier to carrier interconnect,lawful intercept and other homeland security opportunities.
