A Nokia sale of mobile, especially to the US, would be nuts
Nokia's hiring of Intel's Justin Hotard to be its new CEO has set tongues wagging again about a mobile exit, but it would look counterintuitive and inadvisable.
AEP Systems releases next-generation high-security VPN
September 29, 2004
LONDON -- AEP Systems, the high-speed security company, today releases SureWare Net ED100M, a high-security Virtual Private Network (VPN) security gateway encryptor designed for Public Service network environments that demand high availability, flexibility and easy management. Today’s release radically increases data throughput from 10Mbps full duplex to 100Mbps full duplex, expanding bandwidth capability to support data centre traffic on the largest, most demanding Public Sector networks in Europe.
“Public Sector projects across Europe require more communications bandwidth than ever before,” said Stephen Lewis, AEP SureWare Net Senior Product Manager. “Through extensive research and customer feedback we’ve developed an encryption platform that can satisfy ever-growing market demands.”
SureWare Net ED100M is a managed encryption solution that protects IP traffic across networks. The encryptors provide both data confidentiality and source authentication for network traffic, resulting in high-confidence VPN communications. By protecting data on 100Mbps backbone networks, SureWare Net enables the high level of service required by the next generation of large-scale Public Sector infrastructure projects, such as departmental Intranets and inter-departmental Extranets at national and international levels.
The SureWare Net encryption solution is designed to keep management costs to a minimum. For example, a typical system does not require more than five days management effort annually. SureWare Net’s highly-functional management system and the ‘fit-and-forget’ operation of the encryptors distinguishes it from competing products. SureWare Net is unique because it is designed specifically for large, sophisticated and strategic infrastructure projects.
“SureWare Net has been widely deployed to protect sensitive data on national and international criminal justice networks, national government systems and pan-European infrastructures. No matter what the network size, SureWare Net is consistently reliable, efficient and cost-effective,” said Lewis.
Following stringent evaluation, SureWare Net ED100M has achieved formal approval from the UK Government CESG Assisted Products Scheme at ‘Enhanced Grade’, a security rating for the protection of classified information recognised across Europe.
