CUPERTINO, Calif. -- iamba Networks, leadingprovider of Gigabit passive optical networking (GPON) solutions for thetelecommunications industry, today announced the company will demonstratethe iamba iSN1000 family of GPON ONT ASICs, part of the company's GPONEco-System (iGES) solution, at NXTcomm 2008 in Las Vegas, NV, June 16-19,2008. In the ITU GPON Pavilion, booth SU6810D, iamba will highlight thecompany's leading GPON ASICs and software solutions along with other ITUGPON participants in the interoperability demonstration.

Introduced earlier this year, the iSN1000 family includes three ASICsfor three types of ONTs: the iSN1000F for Single Family Units (SFU), theiSN1000T for Multi-Tenant Units (MTU/SOHO) and the iSN1000D for MultiDwelling Units (MDU). The iSN1000 is a part of the iGES (iamba GPONEco-System) solution which is based on iamba's high-performance, highlyintegrated SoCs and offers a complete solution for OLT and ONT systemvendors. Using iamba's iGES solution, ODMs can reduce the costly productdesign and move quickly to the production phase and product delivery, significantly reducing time-to-market, development risks and cost.

iamba will be showing a new powerful, GPON-enabled RGW referencedesign, based on iamba's iSN1000F GPON ASIC and a best-in-breed integratedRGW ASIC, which delivers unparalleled performance for the residentialmarket.

ITU, together with Telcordia, have collaborated to organize amulti-company interoperability demonstration featuring gigabit passiveoptical network (GPON) equipment built according to the ITU-T G.984recommendation, including the recently consented GPON reach extender(G.984.6). The GPON Pavilion features live demonstrations of GPON equipmentinteroperability; with interoperability being a critical enabler toreducing GPON equipment costs. iamba networks will demonstrate triple-playinteroperability with several OLT vendors.
