PARIS -- ECI Telecom reinforces its 1Net framework for optimized migration to next-generation networks with new features and enhancements to its Hi-FOCuS™ Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN).

With the increasing complexity of telecom networks nowadays, ECI has recognized the service providers’ need to migrate to next-generation access networks and to manage the risks that emanate from this, whether those changes are driven by technology, business requirements or regulatory issues.

That means they need increasingly flexible platforms to support current and future services and regulatory requirements, whenever the market demands change. According to the latest market data of the FTTH Council Europe, the FTTH market is continuously evolving. Carriers face different regulatory realities and therefore need different solutions for their FTTH networks.

Today, ECI is announcing an elegant solution targeted to network operators and resellers who are ready to migrate to FTTX technology and need the flexibility to unbundle their GPON networks. As governments and regulators accelerate their initiatives to offer high-speed broadband to both more and less densely populated areas, ECI’s solution allows providers and municipalities who are investing into network infrastructure to be in a position to open their FTTX networks to all market players, reducing risk and getting faster return on investment once market conditions dictate this approach.

With major customers already signed, the value of having this ability built into the product, without requiring additional cost or overhead, demonstrates clear benefits for providers, including:

  • Flexibility to open the access FTTX network, when and if business or regulatory requirements mandate it, without any additional costs or increasing network complexity

  • Support for multiple telecom providers through the same fiber loop

  • Ability to monetize each customers’ individual and evolving bandwidth needs

  • Seamless evolution for carriers worldwide, as the solution is based on ECI’s award-winning Hi-FOCuS platform.

As one of the pioneers in the broadband access market, ECI has continuously recognized that no two telecom networks are alike, and that providers face different challenges at different times. The MSAN concept has evolved over the years to encompass more services, more capabilities and changing regulatory realities over the years. ECI’s offerings include:

  • Any-technology support: both for copper and fiber networks

  • Any-service support: future-proof data, video and voice services

  • Any-application support: residential, business and mobile backhauling

  • Any-where support: wide range of both central-office and remote deployment platforms

  • Any-carrier support: solutions for wireline and wireless networks, resellers and MSOs, both in emerging and developed markets

As a further enhancement to ECI’s MSAN, during this year’s Broadband World Forum ECI will also introduce new, industry-leading high-density DSL cards and will present a live DSM demo, once again paving the way to the future.
