(Nasdaq: EXTR - news) today announced that the first broadband networkconnecting key islands in the Caribbean is built on its award-winningEthernet networking platforms. Cable Bahamas, the premier Internet andcommunications service provider in the Bahamas, has created a GigabitEthernet MAN spanning 70 miles serving the islands of Grand Bahama, NewProvidence, and Eleuthera.Cable Bahamas provides premium Internet access and tiered bandwidth servicesbased on Extreme Networks' Ethernet solutions for commercial businesscustomers and residential settings. The new network interconnects customersfrom the access point at the edge of the network into the network's core,providing much greater bandwidth from end-to-end, an ideal infrastructurefor faster communication services.
