OTTAWA -- AFORE Solutions, Inc. leaders in the design and delivery of customized embedded software and hardware solutions for Network Equipment Providers (NEP) will unveil its InterPort™ software at NXTcomm 2007 in Chicago, June 17-21. InterPort’s software solutions support Carrier Grade Ethernet, PBT, Any Service Any Port Pseudowire and Wireless Backhaul applications enabling the deployment of AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA® platforms (for the first time) within the metro and access network infrastructure.

"Delivering on our commitment to lead the customized design industry, InterPort offers customers a competitive edge, as they bring their products to market faster using our flexible software solutions,” said Alex Berlin, President and CEO at AFORE. “The InterPort software modules allow NEPs to tailor their products to offer a broad range of applications and accelerate their network innovation cycles while lowering costs.”

Key aspects of the InterPort suite of software modules are:

  • InterPort Carrier Grade Ethernet
AFORE’s InterPort Carrier Grade Ethernet modules address the wide range of capabilities required for robust and manageable Ethernet implementations. Through the utilization of technologies such as MAC in MAC, Q in Q, PBT, QoS, OAM and Ring protection InterPort allows Ethernet to scale and meet the operational requirements of transport networks.

  • InterPort Pseudowire (PWE3) Services
AFORE’s InterPort Pseudowire modules enable next generation platforms to fully support existing network applications such as ATM, TDM, Frame Relay and PPP / ML-PPP with flexible Any Service Any Port (ASAP) provisioning. Fundamental to the InterPort solution is its robust support for native protocols such as OAM, QoS, Structured and Unstructured modes and network timing and synchronization.

"InterPort enables cost-effective development of networking platforms for the new generation of networks", said Jonathan Reeves, Chief Strategy Officer at AFORE. "InterPort is the missing link in the ATCA food chain making it possible for ATCA, MicroTCA and network silicon vendors to include feature rich Carrier Grade Ethernet, Pseudowire and PBT in their portfolios and address the lucrative access, metro and wireless backhaul markets."
