ZURICH, Switzerland -- Albis Optoelectronics, the renowned industry brand for high performance photodetector products, announces the availability of PQW30A-S, a hermetically packaged, short wavelength, 30 GHz RF photodetector. This small sized, pigtailed device is used for the detection of RF-modulated optical signals and combines a number of unique features such as an integrated bias-T, a high responsivity GaAs photodiode as well as a hermetic enclosure. The combination of these features makes this a one-of-a-kind device that hasn't been commercially available so far. The attractiveness of the solution was confirmed by key customers that are eagerly awaiting shipment of the first units, expected for mid April, 2013. "The addition of PQW30A-S to our family of PQW products, strenghtens our position in the market for high speed RF photodetectors. It also underlines our goal to expand our portfolio of packaged detectors that integrate our field-proven high-speed photodiodes" states Markus Blaser, Albis CTO. Albis Optoelectronics AG
