In Europe, vendors are grappling with intense competition and encountering numerous challenges in generating revenue from Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) offerings. The deployment of fiber and the incorporation of various technologies into our FTTH networks demand substantial investments. Simply enhancing bandwidth for customers is insufficient to boost revenue; we must strive to elevate customer experiences by introducing innovative services, perhaps leveraging technologies like software-defined access networks.
To achieve this, we need to explore novel avenues for increasing Revenue Per User (RPU) and generating additional income. This, in turn, will empower European operators to invest more significantly in fiber development. This is the key message conveyed at Network X and to the World Broadband Association.
