4:25 PM -- Today on Contentinople:
New research from IT consulting firm RampRate says that YouTube isn't losing nearly as much money as we all thought, after Credit Suisse analysts said the video site could lose as much as half a billion dollars this year. But RampRate says that estimate didn't take into account the vast amount of traffic that is either free or leased at very favorable wholesale rates from some low-cost Tier 1 bandwidth providers.
Video management and distribution firm VMIX Media expanded its relationship with its content delivery network, Akamai, to add new streaming features to its video management platform.
