TORONTO, Ontario -- UXP Systems has announced that cable and media pioneers John Malone and John Risley, have personally invested in the privately-held company UXP Systems, to accelerate the growth of the business with telco, cable and satellite service providers.

UXP Systems’ MINT platform is powering major operators as they transition to a user-centric, digital world of connectivity and connected life services.

“Focusing on a seamless user experience, where any individual can get access to a personalized set of services through their broadband operator, is an emerging sweet spot for the industry,” said Malone.

John Risley is a Canadian entrepreneur and Malone’s business partner in the recent merger of Caribbean-based operators Cable & Wireless and Columbus communications. “UXP Systems saw early on that in transitioning from traditional TV and communications to broadband services with new business models, the focus needed to shift from set-tops and handsets to the users themselves” said Risley. “New age service providers have entire ecosystems that are centered around user IDs, which instantly unlock your personalized services on any screen. We see operators moving in this direction with the added value of broadband connectivity for these ecosystems."

UXP Systems’ MINT platform specifically addresses these issues for operators by providing a flexible user management and service federation capability that enables:

  • Simplified user registration from any screen and for any member of the household

  • Unified access to all services, including core and cloud services, with one set of credentials

  • Management of profiles and taste graphs for personalization and monetization

“Allowing operators to reclaim their broadband audience by driving a seamless connectivity and access experience for every member of the household is a real possibility” said Gemini Waghmare, CEO and founder of UXP Systems. “We believe that this investment from two icons in our industry is demonstrative that there is a strong and growing market for this platform as operators re-invent themselves amidst a changing and disruptive landscape.”
