AT&T adds to HSUPA device lineup with two new LaptopConnect cards from Option

SAN ANTONIO -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announcedtoday two new LaptopConnect cards from Option, the GT Ultra and GT UltraExpress. The new cards deliver enhanced mobile broadband performance acrosstwo popular notebook computer formats, PC Card and ExpressCard. Both ofthese new devices operate seamlessly across AT&T's 3G BroadbandConnect andEDGE networks.

The GT Ultra features a retractable antenna that is compatible in laptopswith PC Card (Type II) slots. The GT Ultra Express is compatible withlaptops that have ExpressCard (34 mm) slots and features a flip-up antennafor optimal broadband performance. It also automatically installs AT&TCommunication Manager when first used with notebooks that have Microsoft(R)Windows Vista(R), Windows XP and Windows 2000(1). This provides aplug-and-play installation experience for most users and eliminates the needfor an installation CD. Both cards are tri-band UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100MHz) and GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) compatible, making it easy toconnect in more than 140 countries, including Japan and Korea.

The new Option cards enable laptop owners to quickly and easily send andreceive e-mail and access the Internet on AT&T's 3G High Speed Packet Access(HSPA) BroadbandConnect wireless network. This network provides enhanced 3Gperformance with typical download speeds between 600 Kbps and 1,400 Kbps andtypical upload speeds between 500 Kbps and 800 Kbps. The faster downloadspeeds provide an optimal wireless Internet-browsing experience, and thefaster upload speeds will enhance users' ability to send large files, suchas e-mail with attachments, photos or business documents.
