Veritas Software joins the Service Availability Forum to participate in the development of open interface specifications

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Service Availability™ Forum (SA Forum), today announced that VERITAS Software, one of the ten largest software companies in the world, has joined its roster of industry-leading communications and computing companies. The SA Forum develops open interface specifications that enable the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) building blocks in the creation of high availability network infrastructure products, systems and services.

“As a leader in providing software that lets companies build and manage scalable, clustered systems to improve application performance and availability, VERITAS is pleased to join the SA Forum to help develop industry standards,” said Shmuel Goshen, vice president Server and Storage Management Group, VERITAS Software Corporation. “Creating an industry standard for managing and controlling clustered systems will help grow the overall market and make it easier for customers and independent software vendors to implement solutions.”
