Starry Snags Former Google Fiber Exec

Former business development executive Kristen Morrissey Thiede joins ambitious broadband startup Starry.

NEW YORK - Starry, Inc. today announced that Kristen Morrissey Thiede has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy. In this capacity, Thiede will lead the business development and corporate strategy for Starry as it builds and expands its fixed wireless broadband network nationally and globally. She will have responsibility for developing partnerships and alliances that enhance the company's strategic growth priorities.

Thiede brings to Starry nearly two decades of experience in media and technology. She most recently served as an advisor at a New York City-based venture capital firm that invests in start-up and early-stage technology companies. Prior to Metamorphic Ventures, Thiede spent 14 years at Google, leading business development and content licensing for Google Fiber and early stage efforts across Google's global portfolio, including Google.org's Crisis response team to Haiti, Chile, and Pakistan, and the launch of AdSense for Content and distribution efforts globally. She holds a BA in political science from the University of the South.

Starry is a Boston- and New York-based technology company focused on re-imagining and revolutionizing how consumers access and connect to the internet. Starry is deploying the world's first millimeter wave band active phased array technology for consumer internet communications, using that technology as a platform for rolling out a nationwide fixed wireless broadband network. Starry Internet will launch its first beta in the Greater Boston area in the summer of 2016. Additional cities will be announced throughout the year.
