Exton, Pa. -- Two of the world’s foremost experts on cyber-threats will take the lead when the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and CableLabs host a ground-breaking Cybersecurity Symposium Oct. 13 in conjunction with SCTE Cable-Tec Expo®.

John N. Stewart, Senior Vice President, Chief Security and Trust Officer Cisco Systems, Inc., and Chris Roberts, Founder and CTO of One World Labs, will keynote the all-day event, which will address ways in which cable system operators can protect their networks and their customers from cyber-attacks.

Stewart leads Cisco’s Security and Trust Organization, protecting Cisco’s public and private customers, driving Cisco’s Secure Development Lifecycle and Trustworthy Systems efforts across Cisco’s portfolio, and protecting Cisco’s $40+ billion enterprise from ever-evolving cyber threats. Roberts has drawn recognition for his ability to show how personal data can connect cyber-attackers with vital personal information or even with businesses’ core critical infrastructures.

“As last year’s string of high-profile breaches showed, none of our businesses are immune from cyber-attacks,” said Mark Dzuban, President and CEO of SCTE and its global brand, the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE). “The lessons we can learn from John N. Stewart, Chris Roberts and our symposium experts will help us to anticipate, prevent and respond to cyber threats that could jeopardize our services and our customers’ networks in the future.”
