Report: T-Mobile Nears Verizon Spectrum Deal
T-Mobile will reportedly soon close a spectrum deal with Verizon Wireless that will give it extra bandwidth covering 150 million people in the US.
Bloomberg reported that a person with knowledge of the process suggests the deal is close.
Why this matters
Jim Alling, T-Mobile's chief operating officer, recently stressed the importance of T-Mobile getting low-band spectrum, so it can reach suburban and rural areas and improve in-building coverage. He said the carrier would explore any opportunity that arose, so this could just be its first.
