SANTA MONICA and EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Boingo Wireless(TM) and Pronto Networks today announced that all Wi-Fi hot spots operated by Pronto Networks are now Boingo-Ready, allowing Boingo users to seamlessly roam onto the networks managed by Pronto's service provider partners. Pronto Networks' partners include Internet kiosk providers, such as EndPoint Communications, that will add Wi-Fi to their existing kiosks and all new installations, and Hotspot Operators, such as AccessAnyplace, Celerity Wireless, Deep Blue Wireless, Fortifire, Global Touch, iDockUSA, Infra Tech Network Communications, WebcastUS, Wireless Evangelists, and Wireless Hotspot, that will deploy more than 400 public hot spots over the next year. "Pronto's plug-n-play design simplifies installation for hot spot operators and will accelerate the deployment of Boingo-Ready hot spots, providing more locations where our members can access the Internet and enjoy productivity on a broadband connection," said Dave Hagan, president of Boingo Wireless. "We anticipate that Pronto will quickly add Boingo-Ready locations since they run the back-office operations for multiple hot spot operators." Boingo's Hagan and Pronto's Singh will both be speaking at the Wireless Hot Spots Conference in San Jose on September 23 - 24, 2002. More information can be found at http://www.scievents.com/whs/. Understanding the full experience of women in technology requires starting at the collegiate level (or sooner) and studying the technologies women are involved with, company cultures they're part of and personal experiences of individuals.

During this WiC radio show, we will talk with Nicole Engelbert, the director of Research & Analysis for Ovum Technology and a 23-year telecom industry veteran, about her experiences and perspectives on women in tech. Engelbert covers infrastructure, applications and industries for Ovum, but she is also involved in the research firm's higher education team and has helped colleges and universities globally leverage technology as a strategy for improving recruitment, retention and graduation performance.

She will share her unique insight into the collegiate level, where women pursuing engineering and STEM-related degrees is dwindling. Engelbert will also reveal new, original Ovum research on the topics of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, security and augmented reality, as well as discuss what each of those technologies might mean for women in our field. As always, we'll also leave plenty of time to answer all your questions live on the air and chat board.
