NOTTINGHAM -- Nottingham is the latest UK city to boast ‘gigabit’ status – broadband infrastructure that enables symmetrical speeds of 1,000Mbps, over 135 times faster than traditional ASDL services. Hyperoptic, the UK’s leading Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband provider, is enabling gigabit connectivity across the city. Unlike other broadband providers that only run fibre to the green box at the end of the street (Fibre-to-the-Cabinet), Hyperoptic installs fibre all the way into the development, which eliminates peak-time slowdowns, buffering and frustrating timeouts.

Tim Huxtable, National Team Manager, Hyperoptic, comments: “Hyperoptic is investing heavily in infrastructure across Nottingham, to give residents and businesses access to the fastest broadband speeds in the UK. We have been hugely encouraged by the appetite for our hyperfast broadband - we choose our cities based on registrations of interest, so it’s fantastic to be fulfilling this demand in Nottingham.”

Hyperoptic’s services are already live in Marco Island, one of the biggest developments in Nottingham city centre. A number of other developments are also undergoing installation. Hyperoptic is committed to extend its footprint across the length and breadth of the city by the time the year is out.
