You know, there's lots of stuff to enjoy about Mobile World Congress and Barcelona.

We didn't want to come off as relentless curmudgeons with our last slide show on the big mobile bash. (See MWC: 10 Things That Could Melt Your Mind .)

So here's a selection of the best stuff that happens on or around the show in Spain. Click below to see the highlights:

Sun!
With snow covering a good part of the US, and rain hammering some areas of Europe and the UK, the expected warm temperatures in Barcelona will be very welcome.

As ever, if you have your own favorite things tell us about them on the message board.

Re: Any ideas?
Barcelona is a great spot for MWC in part for the reasons you mention and in part because, well, it is a world-class city and the new Fira is the right size for the event.

Re: Any ideas?
Ha! I just asked the same question on one of the other Barcelona topics. It does seem odd; I don't usually think of Spain as being a hotbed of mobile development.

CeBit should be enough to scare off anyone from even thinking about locating a big event in Germany.

Re: Any ideas?
Hard to find a central European venue with enough hotels and transportation to handle a show of this size. They were talking about moving it to Germany if I recall but that seems to have gone away.

It might be the weather, although the only people I've seen who aren't wearing jackets or winter coats are American and Brit boy-os.

Thanks Eds for preparing us to welcome all that great stuff. Will surely catch one or two of these during the trip.

I wonder why GSMA happens in Barcelona every year! Any ideas?

Re: Ciudad Condal
Sara, if you want the best tapas in an informal setting try Bar Celta (the best "Pulpo a Feira" in town) or Bar Cañete, near Teatre del Liceu (Ramblas)

Anyone going to Sagrada Familia should make reservations now. We had family from London this week and all the morning timeslots were gone.

Understanding the full experience of women in technology requires starting at the collegiate level (or sooner) and studying the technologies women are involved with, company cultures they're part of and personal experiences of individuals.

During this WiC radio show, we will talk with Nicole Engelbert, the director of Research & Analysis for Ovum Technology and a 23-year telecom industry veteran, about her experiences and perspectives on women in tech. Engelbert covers infrastructure, applications and industries for Ovum, but she is also involved in the research firm's higher education team and has helped colleges and universities globally leverage technology as a strategy for improving recruitment, retention and graduation performance.

She will share her unique insight into the collegiate level, where women pursuing engineering and STEM-related degrees is dwindling. Engelbert will also reveal new, original Ovum research on the topics of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, security and augmented reality, as well as discuss what each of those technologies might mean for women in our field. As always, we'll also leave plenty of time to answer all your questions live on the air and chat board.
