STOCKHOLM -- Ericsson (Nasdaq:ERIC) has signed a key contract with TELUS for the development and deployment of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), the foundation for communication services over LTE and other accesses. The implementation of Ericsson's IMS technology will enable TELUS to offer advanced, convergent services in voice, data and video calling over both wireline and wireless networks to customers across Canada.

As a global leader in network convergence solutions, Ericsson's IMS will allow TELUS to leverage the latest telecommunications developments, equipping the Canadian carrier with the most innovative technology.

IMS is a cost-efficient system that will enable TELUS to generate new revenue streams through differentiated services based on the Rich Communication Services (RCS) and Voice over LTE (VoLTE).
