Finding T-Mo: More Magenta 4G Signals Appear

Sightings of the new T-Mobile US LTE signals are now regularly popping up in U.S. cities ahead of the official launches of new LTE markets. Light Reading Mobile readers have noted that there are now LTE signals showing up in Austin, Texas. Your correspondent has spotted 4G LTE signals from T-Mobile all over Brooklyn and in Queens over the last week too. None are yet showing up, however, in midtown or downtown Manhattan. (See T-Mobile's 4G LTE Pops Up in NYC.) The TMoNews blog, meanwhile, notes signals in Philadelphia, Pa., San Antonio, Texas and Seattle, Wash. The operator itself has officially said that it will cover 100 million U.S. citizens by mid-year and 200 million by the end of 2013 with its LTE service. Staff at its New York stores have said the new network will arrive in the Big Apple this summer. — Dan Jones, Site Editor, Light Reading Mobile

Dan is to hats what Will.I.Am is to ridiculous eyewear. Fedora, trilby, tam-o-shanter -- all have graced the Jones pate during his career as the go-to purveyor of mobile essentials.

But hey, Dan is so much more than 4G maps and state-of-the-art headgear. Before joining the Light Reading team in 2002 he was an award-winning cult hit on Broadway (with four 'Toni' awards, two 'Emma' gongs and a 'Brian' to his name) with his one-man show, "Dan Sings the Show Tunes."

His perfectly crafted blogs, falling under the "Jonestown" banner, have been compared to the works of Chekhov. But only by Dan.

He lives in Brooklyn with cats.
