NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Coriant, a global supplier of dynamic metro-to-core transport solutions, announced that Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has chosen Coriant to further enhance their mobile backhaul network. The 4G LTE infrastructure upgrade is part of CHT's continuing effort to utilize the most advanced technologies to provide the best possible broadband service experience for their customers in Taiwan.

The Coriant 7090 Packet Transport Platform offers mobile service providers such as CHT a broad range of migration options to seamlessly and cost-effectively migrate their current networks to a more cost-effective and efficient packet-based infrastructure. The modernized infrastructure also enables service providers to increase revenues by offering customers new services on a reliable packet-based network with the flexibility to support growing bandwidth needs. The 7090 product family enables end-to-end "any-service" transport, and provides the reliable foundation for revenue-generation through end-user services, including Triple Play, Carrier Ethernet, and private line (TDM, Carrier Ethernet) services. In mobile backhaul applications, the 7090 enables operators to save up to 40% in CapEx compared to router-centric (IP/MPLS-over-WDM) solutions.
