10:30 AM -- Deutsche Telekom AG (NYSE: DT) has some work to do if it is to reach its target of 200,000 IPTV customers by the end of the year.

The German giant announced that goal when it revamped its TV-over-broadband marketing in late August. Today, as it reported its third-quarter earnings, the carrier noted it had 50,000 orders for its Entertain service at the end of September. (See DT Cuts Its IPTV Price and DT Reports Q3.)

Also today, Hrvatski Telekom , the Croatian incumbent that is 51 percent owned by DT, announced it now has 23,000 customers for MAXtv, its "successful HD-ready IPTV service." (See T-Hrvatski Reports Q3.)

Europe is currently leading the way in global IPTV subscriber numbers and growth. (See IPTV Growth Gets Euro Pop, Soccer Kickstarts BT's IPTV Growth, More Euro IPTV Growth, and Yet More Euro IPTV Growth.)
