WiC Radio & Intel: Betting Big on Your Career
Join Women in Comms and Intel 5G General Manager Caroline Chan tomorrow at noon EST for a live radio show chat on professional and technological risk taking.
Focusing on technologies like mobile edge computing, heterogenous networking and alternative spectrums may have seen like gambles as recently as five years ago, but part of building a successful career path means betting on where the industry is going next (or skating to where the puck is going, to cite the oft-quoted Wayne Gretzky.)
This is advice that Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC)'s Caroline Chan lives by, and it's clear from her career that it's paid off. Chan is the general manager of the 5G Infrastructure Division of the Network Platform Group at Intel where she is responsible for driving the chip giant's global network infrastructure strategy and deliverables for 5G -- so essentially mapping out the future of connectivity around the world.
Chan is right in heart of a number of technologies such as the Internet of Things, virtualized RAN, mini Cloud RAN and mobile edge computing, that are driving our industry. Getting to this point has required her to take educated, calculated risks around technologies, as well as to make smart professional moves in her career. It's led her to believe that the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.
Women in Comms is gearing up for a bigger, better 2017. Join us in our cause to redress the gender imbalance in the comms industry! Visit WiC Online and get in touch to learn more.
Join Women in Comms tomorrow at noon EST/9 a.m. PST for a live radio chat with Chan, where she will share more of her personal story with us, including the risks she took -- both professionally and technologically including the ones that paid off and those that didn't -- as well as share advice on how to structure your own career to make smart bets, mitigate against risk and keep moving up.
She will also leave plenty of time to answer your questions live on the air and on the message boards afterwards. To join us tomorrow, register right here. We look forward to chatting with you tomorrow at noon EST/9 a.m. PST right here on Women in Comms!
