During the Broadband World Forum (BBWF), Huawei joined hands with carriers and the leading consulting organization, Informa, to hold the All-Optical Access Innovation Forum, bringing together heavyweight analysts, carriers, and Huawei experts. We shared the new development trends of the optical access industry, innovative architectures and solutions for all-optical access, and related business success cases, and jointly opened a new chapter in the development of optical broadband.

Feng Zhishan, President of Optical Access Network Product Line at Huawei, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Unleash Fiber Potential, Boost Broadband Growth", pointing out that video, broadband experience, and intelligent society are three driving forces. Huawei has proposed four strategic opportunities for fiber networks: FTTH,Gigabit speed-up,FTTR and Beyond 10Gbps. Huawei has launched a series of innovative solutions and products to help carriers build F5.5G-oriented end-to-end all-optical access networks and make fibers ubiquitous. Support rapid business development and business success, and accelerate the industry towards a smart world.

Julie Kunstler, Chief Analyst of Broadband Access Intelligence Service at Omdia, pointed out that, pace of fiber connectivity growth is accelerating, end-user requirements drive PON with FTTR fast development, 50G PON will be next major step for operators around world.

Peter Weigel, Network Connectivity Architect at Swisscom, stated that 50G PON is the enabler for next generation optical Access which services for all customer segments, Swisscom aims to provide the best available access technologies by adopting 50G PON and make smooth service upgrade .

In the speech entitled “FTTR Brings Ultimate Home Service Experience By Carrier-class Wi-Fi”, David Yi, General Manager of Home Network Domain at Huawei, said that as diverse home services emerge, the home network needs to upgrade consumer-class Wi-Fi to carrier-class Wi-Fi to provide stable coverage of ultra-gigabit in the whole house, experience-based SLA assurance, and operable Wi-Fi. Huawei is the industry's first to launch the FTTR solution for carrier-class Wi-Fi, and works with operators to launch the world's first FTTR 1000M and 2000M commercial packages. So far, hundreds of users have subscribed to the new packages. According to actual user cases, the Huawei FTTR solution can realize carrier-class Wi-Fi and provide users with premium network experience. It greatly improves the home broadband user satisfaction, along with significant ARPU increase.

Dennis Luo, Chief Architect of Access Network Domain at Huawei, stated that The Huawei Intelligent FAN solution combines the access network with the FIE intelligent technologies, enabling superior user experience, agile services, and smart O&M and energy saving. The solution has effectively improved user experience and efficiencies in terms of pipe usage, O&M, and energy consumption.

As a global leader in the fixed network field, Huawei will work with the industry to continuously innovate in bandwidth, experience, and intelligence. Huawei will help carriers expand new services and fields through four waves of strategic development opportunities, and inject new impetus into the development of optical broadband services. Seize opportunities and lead the future with the ultimate user experience.
