AMSTERDAM and SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Gemtek Systems, the leading supplier of carrier-grade Wi-Fi Public Access solutions(TM), today announced that it has been selected to provide Public Access products and services to China Mobile Communication Corp. (CMCC), the world's largest mobile operator, following fierce competition with the leading global telecom and mobile suppliers. CMCC is among the first wireless carriers to deploy Wi-Fi as part of a nationwide rollout of wireless Internet services. CMCC has limited its certification to a group of leading vendors, including Gemtek Systems. Of these, Gemtek Systems is the only vendor to be certified by CMCC for a full Wi-Fi access network solution, including clients, public access controllers, access points and network management software. "The certification by China Mobile validates our assertion that Gemtek Systems delivers carrier-grade solutions," commented Hans van der Hoek, CEO of Gemtek Systems. "CMCC had the pick of the best and they chose Gemtek Systems. Our experience gained in the Chinese market puts us in a commanding position to win contracts throughout the world as other mobile carriers and telcos roll out Wi-Fi Public Access services. We're off to a fast start." "We estimate the value of future orders at many millions of dollars," said Y. Robert Fu, President of Gemtek Systems China. "Gemtek Systems has locked in a most favorable position to supply a major portion of equipment and services for CMCC going forward. We expect more orders to be executed resulting from equipment trials now in place."China Mobile Communications Corp.Gemtek Systems Inc.
