Launches its ONLINE2500 Optical Edge Service Platform

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- ONI Systems Corp. (Nasdaq:ONIS - news), a leading provider of optical telecommunications systems for metropolitan and regional markets, today launched its new ONLINE2500 Optical Edge Service Platform, the latest member of the ONLINE(TM) family of optical transport platforms. ONI will showcase a live demonstration of optical edge networks built with the ONLINE2500 at SUPERCOMM Atlanta, June 5-7, 2001, with general availability following in the same month.
