As one of the largest fiber operators in Finland, Lounea has a wide range of B2C and B2B ISP products. Lounea was the first operator to introduce 10Gbps fiber connections to Finnish users and has expanded fiber connections across the whole country. In 2023, Lounea officially released 40Gbps packages using Huawei's 50G PON solution, providing users with world's fastest bandwidth.

Based on Huawei's industry-leading optical access technology, this MoU aims to build a joint innovation lab for F5G-A applications to explore and practice the leading capabilities of the next-generation OLT, premium Wi-Fi experience of FTTR, and full-scenario network construction to bring ubiquitous premium user experience.

Juha Häkämies, CEO of Lounea Palvelut Oy, said, "We are committed to providing customers with high-quality services in a professional and convenient manner, including providing customers with ultra-fast home broadband speeds using already today 50G PON to provide 40Gbps ultra-high-speed package services. We want to build a joint innovation lab with our partner Huawei to provide users with premium experience and high-quality digital home services through visible showcases."

2024 marks the first year of commercial use of F5G-A, and fixed networks will embrace a new leap. For 10G ultra-broadband development, Huawei has released the latest intelligent 10G access OLT MA5800T and FTTR+X iFTTR OptiXstar F50 at MWC 2024, and the brand-new products will further support F5G-A application innovation and new business models.

Kim Jin, Vice President of Huawei Optical Business Product Line, said, "Huawei will continue to strengthen cooperation with Lounea to build green and agile all-optical access networks with a higher bandwidth and lower latency. Based on F5G-A, Huawei can help operators expand business boundaries, seize opportunities, and win the future by delivering superior user experience."
