REDHILL, U.K. -- Mobile network engineering specialists, AIRCOM International have been awarded an outsourcing contract of several years by the Belgian mobile operator BASE for the planning and optimisation of its national network. The contract will take effect as of August 1, 2005 and is worth several million Euros, AIRCOM have announced.

Under the terms of the contract, AIRCOM will provide network planning and optimisation services to BASE's multi-vendor and multi-technology mobile network of over 1.76 million subscribers.

By outsourcing its network planning and optimisation work, BASE is moving away from the day-to-day operation and optimisation of its network in order to fully focus on its core business of developing innovative and competitive services to its subscribers.

"AIRCOM’s role is a natural progression in the provision of its standard portfolio of integrated tools and services. There are very few companies able to offer this type of service today without involving third party products. We are well aligned to help BASE meet its business challenges in a very competitive market," said Steve Preston, Group Director of AIRCOM’s Global Consulting Services.
