SHENZHEN, China -- ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763) is to extend Bulgaria’s first dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical network – installed earlier this year by the Corporation – in a new contract announced with Cabletel, the country’s leading fixed-line operator.

ZTE, China’s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, will carry out the 293km expansion, taking the network to a total length of almost 800km. The expanded network will include four network nodes and is based upon ZTE’s ZXWM M900 technology.

“Our high quality equipment, formidable construction capability and across-the-board services presented in the construction of the initial network received overwhelming recognition from Cabletel,” said Mr Guo Jun, President of ZTE Eastern Europe.

“We are delighted to have been chosen for the expansion of this landmark network and will continue to provide first-class equipment and services to promote Bulgaria’s telecommunications development.”
