The company plans to close the acquisition later this year.Hyperfine, Inc., headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, was founded by Bernhard Bach in 1969 to produce the highest quality holographic and diffraction gratings. Bach, protégé to grating expert David Richardson of the world-renowned Richardson Grating Labs (renamed Thermo RGL), has more than 40 years of experience in the field of diffraction gratings and is considered one of the world’s authorities in the field. Since the company’s inception, Hyperfine has become the world leader in both ruling and replicating optical gratings used in atmospheric research, laser radars, optical computing and telecommunications.
