LOUISVILLE, Colo. -- Zolo Technologies, Inc., an emerging optical networking sub-systems developer and manufacturer founded in 1999 by recognized leaders of the optical networking industry, today began delivery of a single-input, 40-channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) device that uniquely combines high-performance, scalability, reliability and cost-efficiency with a design that facilitates high-yield production. Representing Zolo's first formal product launch in the ZmuxÔ family of DWDM products, several industry-leading metro and long-haul optical networking systems companies are taking delivery of evaluation units in anticipation of general market availability within the next few months.

"There have been plenty of announcements indicating the good intentions of companies wanting to meet the overwhelming demand for high-capacity, high-performance DWDM devices at affordable prices, but we feel Zolo is the first to make that promise a reality," said Ed Barbera, CEO and co-founder of Zolo Technologies. "Our first 40-channel product is a new benchmark for cost, scalability and performance, and represents the leadership position that Zolo will hold in this industry going forward. We are eager to bring this and subsequent products to market where they will give telecommunications providers a tremendous return on investment toward converting to a reliable and scalable optical network."
