OAKLAND, Calif. -- Zhone Technologies, a pioneer in the development of scalable next-generation network products supporting a rich array of voice, data, video, and entertainment services, today announced that its Arca-DACS™ 100 product has completed the Telcordia™ OSMINE Services process for the Telcordia™ NMA® TIRKS®, and Transport Element Activation Manager Systems.Completion of the OSMINE process allows Tier 1 carriers to accelerate deployment of the Arca-DACS 100, the industry’s leading cost-effective, small-footprint 3/1/0 digital cross-connect system. The Arca-DACS 100 grooms traffic at all levels of granularity to allow for more efficient use of backhaul synchronous optical network (SONET) transport, add-drop multiplexers (ADMs), 3/1/0 DCS ports and switch ports for partially filled (fractional) T1/E1 applications."The OSMINE process is important for service providers, and completing that process for the Arca-DACS 100 demonstrates Zhone’s commitment to serving those customers," said Marcel Chenier, Vice President of Engineering for Zhone. "The Arca-DACS 100 provides flexible grooming features delivering substantial cost-savings in the access network. Completion of the OSMINE process helps ensure network interoperability with carriers’ NMA, TIRKS, and Transport Element Activation Manager OSSs for further cost savings."Zhone Technologies Inc.
