SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Zaffire, Inc., a leading provider of optical networking systems for metropolitan and regional area networks, in concert with Quallaby Corporation, a leading provider of highly scalable service level management solutions, will demonstrate a joint solution that represents the telecommunications industry’s first implementation of advanced Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for optical networks at SuperNet in Santa Clara, Calif., January 15 and 16.This collaborative solution, which leverages digital wrapper technology and taps into the unique software capabilities embedded in the Zaffire ZOS operating system, will enable carriers to offer advanced optical SLAs.

“Zaffire has demonstrated a very promising optical service level agreement solution,” said Leif Hoglund, RHK’s director Telecom OS. “Being the first to market digital wrapper, the company has a definitive lead on its competitors. Zaffire and its partner Quallaby are solving some of the performance monitoring problems around services like gigabit ethernet, which require optical transport to the customer. Using digital wrapper technology, they have integrated performance monitoring with SLA reporting capabilities, which fills a large need in optical metro product offerings of this type, and makes it much easier for service providers to offer measurable SLA agreements.”
