Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company to defend against patent infringement allegations

WUHAN, China -- Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd. (YOFC), a world leader in the optical fiber and cable market, has learned that Furukawa Electric North America (Furukawa) and its subsidiary OFS Fitel LLC (together, OFS) recently filed a complaint against YOFC in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. In its complaint, OFS alleges that YOFC has infringed several U.S. patents. YOFC itself invests heavily in research and development, has its own extensive intellectual property portfolio, and has great respect for the sanctity of the intellectual property rights of others. Accordingly, YOFC intends to defend this lawsuit and its reputation vigorously.
