SAN FRANCISCO -- Yipes Communications, Inc., the defining provider of scalable bandwidth on demand, today announced that its gigabit optical IP networks now supply light-speed Internet access to the Denver-based Westwind Media division of Radio One Networks, a leader in streaming media.

Delivering rich content to millions of users requires high-speed, reliable connectivity to the Internet. Westwind Media found that in Yipes' all-fiber-optic network. Yipes currently delivers 50 Megabits per second of bandwidth to Westwind Media over multiple Tier 1 Internet backbones. "It was very important for us to have redundant and dependable Internet access," said Cliff Gardiner, CEO of Radio One Networks. "The portals we serve demand the highest reliability because so many visitors come to their sites in search of streaming content."
