3:50 PM -- Today on Contentinople:

  • After 18 months of on-again, off-again romance, those crazy kids have finally gotten together to work on search and advertising. With the 10-year deal, Yahoo and Microsoft hope to give Google a run for its money, using Bing search technology and Yahoo's sales of premium search advertising.

  • Podcasting ad technology firm VoloMedia received its first patent yesterday -- for the "fundamental mechanisms of podcasting." VoloMedia CEO Murgesh Navar filed for the patent in 2003, two years before Apple added podcasts to its iTunes store.

And in today's News Bits, Twitter has unveiled its new search-focused home page.
