Xebeo Communications teams with Johanson Fiber Optics Group for development and first use of multi-fiber optical backplane connectors

BOONTON, N.J. -- Xebeo Communications, Inc., a leader in metro optical packet switch networking solutions, and Johanson Fiber Optics Group, LLC, a leader in Fiber Optic Interconnect Technology, today announced the first use in Xebeo’s MetroBridgetm and the commercial availability of a jointly developed optical backplane fiber connection system, the Johanson MPAKtm Connector System.Through joint design, development and test with Xebeo, Johanson’s revolutionary MPAKtm Multifiber Connector System sets the standard for multi-ribbon backplane connectivity using up to 6 MT ferrule for an industry leading capacity of 144 fibers in a single connector. .
