Xebeo extends its dominance in the funny-name market with the appointment of Dr. Lampros Kalampoukas as CTO

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. -- Xebeo Communications, Inc. an innovative private company that delivers carrier class switching platforms for next- generation packet based telecommunications networks, today announced that it has appointed Dr. Lampros Kalampoukas, as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Dr. Kalampoukas will continue to lead the architecture and development of the Xebeo MetroBridge. The MetroBridge product line consists of a range of scalable, high capacity, carrier class packet switching platforms with advanced traffic management capabilities. Dr. Kalampoukas co-founded Xebeo in 2000. He has extensive background in traffic management, congestion and flow control, and network protocol performance of high-speed carrier class packet switches and networks. Prior to Xebeo, Dr. Kalampoukas served as part of the High Speed Networks Research Department at Bell Laboratories where he contributed to the architecture, design, and development of high-speed and QoS-capable IP switches. Dr Kalampoukas is a recognized expert in the architecture, design, and performance of SONET, Field-Programmable, and switching devices. His contributions to the ATM Forum have been instrumental to the formulation of the Traffic Management ATM standards and system and silicon vendors have licensed his traffic management algorithms.
