US Wireless Acquires Verge

Wireless broadband operator US Wireless Online, acquires Verge Wireless Networks, which deploys municipal wireless networks

LOUISVILLE, Ken. -- US Wireless Online, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: UWRL) (website:, which owns and operates one of the nation's largest wireless Internet broadband networks, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Verge Wireless Networks, Inc. ("Verge"). Terms of the transaction, which is scheduled to close within 30 days, were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Verge Wireless Networks, Inc. ( is a leader in the deployment of municipal wireless networks using mesh technology. Verge was recently awarded a contract from the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency and the City's Recreation and Park Agency to deploy a hot-zone in Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles. In addition to municipal networks, Verge also provides broadband connectivity, wireless local area networking, and broadband security solutions to corporate, institutional, and governmental customers.

The combination of both companies' broadband networks and solutions further positions US Wireless Online as a major national provider of high-speed Internet access and broadband solutions, including its recently announced VoIP solution.
