Qualcomm provides its MSM6250 Mobile Station Modem chipset and system software for Sierra Wireless's multimode 3G wireless products

CANNES, France -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology and Sierra Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: SWIR; TSX: SW), a leader in delivering highly differentiated wireless communication solutions, today announced the selection of QUALCOMM's MSM6250(TM) Mobile Station Modem(TM) (MSM(TM)) chipset and system software for Sierra Wireless' multimode third-generation (3G) wireless products.

With the MSM6250 chipset, Sierra Wireless will provide the WCDMA (UMTS) market with a high-quality, high-speed wireless connectivity solution using a proven chipset technology.
