TORONTO -- Redknee Inc., the leading global provider of communication software to wireless telecommunication network operators, today announced the commercial deployment of SynaxisTM Enhanced Messaging Gateway (EMG) and Datamart solutions for Rogers Wireless.

Not only will EMG enable Rogers Wireless to generate new revenues from real-time rating and charging for SMS, data and content capabilities, but also benefit from cost savings through offloading traffic from their existing SMSC using an innovative first shot delivery mechanism, which reduces network load. The EMG solution also provides an evolution to become a full SMSC and manage multimedia messages all on the same platform as Rogers Wireless messaging requirements evolve.

“We were seeking a platform that would allow us to provide flexible rating for premium content SMS. Redknee’s Synaxis EMG enhanced the existing legacy SMSC infrastructure by providing new rating features in real-time, to ensure timely delivery of content while minimizing risks of revenue leakage. Redknee’s differential content rating feature also enables new SMS downloads and packages to be offered.” said Bruce Burgetz, CIO of Rogers Wireless.

“Building on their strong service infrastructure solution base, Redknee’s EMG has brought Rogers Wireless an advanced and flexible rating platform for short message service”, said Bohdan Zabawskyj, CTO at Redknee. “The Redknee system delivers real-time billing of SMS for all of Rogers’ GSM and TDMA subscribers in a single platform and seamlessly integrates as well as directs messaging traffic to and from diverse messaging platforms. Redknee’s DataMart solution enables customer service agents to query message status and also generate reports to provide statistical information on the messaging platform.”
