French WiMax operator Altitude selects WiNetworks solutions to support continued growth in France

NEW YORK -- WiNetworks, a pioneer and leader in the development and integration of WiMAX 802.16e Wave 2 (MIMO) technologies, announced today a new partnership with French operator Altitude Telecom, a subsidiary of Altitude Group and a well establish supplier of wireless services. Altitude Telecom has pioneered WiMAX services in France since 2004, and the new relationship with WiNetworks will help the company integrate cutting-edge solutions. WiNetworks' Win-Max(R) Pico base station, in particular, will allow Altitude Telecom to extend its current coverage and provide extensive, high quality wireless broadband services for fixed, nomadic and mobile WiMAX networks. Deployments of the Win-Max(R) solution have already started, facilitating on-going expansions in multiple cities and remote rural areas.
WiNetworks' Win-Max(R) Pico base station is the best priced base station in the market today supporting the 802.16e Wave 2 Mobile WiMAX standard. Both the Win-Max Pico and the Compact WiMAX base stations are optimized for indoor & outdoor coverage, offering a SoC approach based on WiMAX Forum Certified Mobile WiMAX SQN-2130RD. These products have several advantages including a design geared for quick and easy installations that allows mounting on lampposts, supporting outdoor fixtures and offering economies of scale.
