Marvell WLAN solutions among first selected for WiFi protected setup testbed

LAS VEGAS -- Marvell(R) (Nasdaq: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications and consumer silicon solutions, today announced that Marvell's TopDog(TM) 802.11n(1) access point solutions and 802.11a/b/g wireless USB client solutions have been selected as part of the Wi-Fi Alliance(R) Wi-Fi Protected Setup(TM) testbed. Marvell silicon is among the first to be certified for the Wi-Fi Protected Setup, an optional certification program based on a standardized method for security setup in home Wi-FI networks.

Consumers regard security for home Wi-Fi networks as a top three essential element of home security with more than 40 percent of respondents feeling that a protected Wi-FI network is an important part of creating a safe home.(2) By selecting products used in the Wi-Fi Protected Setup, consumers will benefit from ease of installation and activation of security features on wireless networks in the home.
