SAN ANTONIO -- Time Warner Cable announced today the availability of their largest "Road Runner Speed Zone" in San Antonio, offering high-speed 802.11 Wi-Fi services to Road Runner customers. The wireless network, which is the first of many Road Runner Speed Zones planned by the company in San Antonio, was built using the award-winning WLAN system provided by Airespace, Inc.

Road Runner Speed Zone utilizing Airespace equipment has been deployed in the San Antonio Rivercenter Courtyard to ensure that Road Runner clients can access the Internet from this area. With the Road Runner wireless service, visitors to San Antonio, such as the thousands of college basketball fans who are attending the semifinals and finals of the men's NCAA(TM) Final Four basketball tournament this week, can always remain connected via a standard Wi-Fi enabled laptop, PDA or other device.

"Airespace offered us the best solution for maintaining a high-quality, high-performance wireless network for Time Warner Cable," said Jeff Henry, Vice President of Marketing and New Product Development for Time Warner Cable-San Antonio. "We chose the Airespace platform for its unique ability to dynamically reconfigure itself to accommodate changes in user volumes and traffic patterns, ensuring that Road Runner Speed Zones can deliver consistent, secure and reliable Wi-Fi services, regardless of the amount of load place on the wireless network."

"Road Runner is a tremendous branded broadband offering," said Alan Cohen, vice president of marketing at Airespace. "Time Warner Cable's choice of the Airespace Wireless Platform validates our market leadership and we are looking forward to working closely with them to accelerate the proliferation of high-speed wireless Internet services into additional markets."
